A scarce issue of the famed king whose majestic tomb - the original Mausoleum - was to become one of the seven World Wonders. An interesting design in its own right, with a double lion representation - the familiar for this area roaring head accompanied here by the unusual frontal view of the beast stalking prey. These issues revive archaic Milesian types, and some claim this to be really an archaic AR obol.
