Far less common than the usual bronzes of Philip II with the Apollo obverse are the ones that feature a young Herakles of the style familiar from the subsequent reign of Alexander the Great, while retaining the youth on horse (possible pun on Philip's name) reverse. Although the reverse strike here is such that the legend was not struck up - still a choice example (in terms of style, centering, patina and preservation) of a scarce type.
