Thick reddish patina typical of these issues obscures some of the obverse design, in particular the details of the symbol behind the eagle, though a close examination indicates most likely another crab, crawling to the outside of the coin - a symbol not recorded in BMC or other references consulted. The Akragantine crab reverse bronze issues with a close-winged eagle were apparently minted for a much shorter time period, and are generally harder to find that the more traditional "eagle(s) attacking hare" types.
