Issued around 143-4 AD, this "victorious" type refers to the supression of a revolt in Britain, carried by the local governor under imperial auspices, for which Antoninus was hailed Imperator for the second time. Though not rewarded as lavishly, the executor of the imperial will - the governor of Britian, Quintus Lolius Urbicus - also benefitted, having been later given the Prefecture of Rome, topping off an illustrious career of an native African that fought in the Second Jewish Revolt and Pannonia, and governed in Lower Germany and Britian, among other things.
