Unusual and interesting reverse, in the "great" tradition of the megalomaniacal delusions of the likes of Nero, Domitian, Commodus and of course, Caracalla. Here the emperor is portrayed in the role of no other than Zeus himself - as evidenced by the unmistakable combination of attributes of the supreme ancient Greek deity, yet coupled with the characteristic, if miniature, effigy of the laureate Caracalla.
