Historically important and interesting Caesar denarius straddling the watershed of the Ides of March. Minted only weeks after his assassination, it depicts a temple - commissioned by the Senate and erected shortly before Caesar's death - in gratitude for the mercy received from Caesar upon entering Rome. In practice, this type may have been minted by Mark Antony as propaganda supporting the memory of Caesar as a popular leader shortly after his death.
